We’re here to help you beat your best and get more from the sports you love. We’ve been doing it for thousands of young athletes for more than 40 years. It doesn’t matter if you’re competing, volunteering through GamesForce or trying out a new challenge, there’s a place for you and your borough at the London Youth Games.
OUR competitions
School Games
Primary and secondary schools right across London come together every year at the School Games. They face off in four kinds of competition: intra-school, local inter-school, county finals and the School Games National Finals.
Open Games
Every year, 33 London boroughs set their sights on the Jubilee Trophy, the ultimate prize in our Open Games. Your borough’s top scores in every competition all get added together. Whoever has the most points is declared the winner.
For some of the biggest names in sport, it all started at the London Youth Games. Our Hall of Fame celebrates the ongoing success of our athletes, volunteers, coaches, officials and partner organisations. We’re proud to have known some the UK’s greatest sportspeople from the last four decades: including Mo Farah, Zoe Smith, David Weir, Rachel Yankey and Dina Asher-Smith.
Our Respect the Games campaign celebrates everything that makes London’s youth great. Values like fairness, ambition, inclusion and respect. And our regular events for disabled young people encourage everyone in every borough to get more involved in sport. Together, our values are helping us build a stronger London.
We’ve been inspiring young Londoners since 1977, when the London Youth Games were launched to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Since then, borough teams from all corners of London have been coming together every year to see who will win our Jubilee Trophy.
